WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

Yin Yoga is a type of slow, passive, very gentle and fully supported form of yoga that is suitable for any body type. We hold these postures for several minutes, allowing the nervous system to fully settle and truly find a deep sense of relaxation.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

We will start the class with guided meditation, very gentle yoga (sun salutations), and some somatic movement for about 45 min. This is to bring us into our bodies, inside our awareness, and acknowledge where we are right now.

After we become more present, we will begin the process of deep yin yoga (1 hr). Poses are held for ~ 5 min each, which allows the nervous system to fully settle. Guided meditation (yoga nidra) will be offered during some of the asanas, as well as light message (head, back and feet) if you consent to this.

The last 15 min of class will be guided mediation that closes off the practice, and prepares us to leave the classroom feeling a sense of completion. An informal discussion with tea + cookies will be available if anyone wishes to stay and chat about their experiences.

WHAT TO BRING

• yoga mat + water bottle

• 1 - 2 small blankets (heavy/wool preferred)

• any additional supports for your meditative practice

We have several additional mats, blocks, pillows and blankets to use… just let us know. If you are wishing to dedicate this deep practice to someone lost, feel free to bring any items that remind you of that person. We will have a prayer alter in the room for anyone who wishes to honor loved ones.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?

We ask for a €20 investment for each 2 hr yoga course. The studio has a limited capacity, so reservation by purchasing through our website is key to securing a space.
