PREGNANCY
You should always chat to your doctor first about yoga and exercise before signing up. We don’t offer dedicated prenatal classes, but there are classes you can attend. Remember always inform the teacher upon arrival so that they can modify your poses if needed.
As your body changes, we recommend starting with gentler classes and listening to how you feel. Here are some classes we think you'll love:
Yin Yang Flow
Gentle Yoga
Yoga 101
Morning Vinyasa
You will find times and full class descriptions on our class schedule.
Classes to Avoid
For safety reasons, prenatal students should avoid classes like Warm Yin, Hot Yoga, and any Power/Strong/Fit classes, as these may pose risks due to vigorous movements and heat.Class Tips for Pregnancy
As you progress through your trimesters, here are some helpful tips for staying comfortable during class:Avoid lying flat on your stomach or back; instead, try kneeling or using a bolster for support.
Modify poses like plank by kneeling, and rest on your side during savasana.
Skip deep twists or core work to give baby plenty of space.
As your belly grows, keep your legs open and bend your knees in poses like forward folds or downward dog.
Above all, listen to your body—if something doesn’t feel good, it’s okay to skip that pose.
POST PARTUM
Yoga can be a wonderful way to support your postpartum recovery and ease back into movement. We would recommend you start with the more gentle classes listed above and again let your instructor know once you arrive. Always listen to your body during practice.
MENSTRUATION
Yoga is so beneficial for menstruation when done mindfully and with awareness. In general, you should avoid intense inversions (like headstand, shoulder stand, plough) and any strong tilting of the pelvis towards the belly and any strong core work. We also provide tampons and pads in our bathrooms should you need them at any time.

If you own a 10 Class Pass we allow you to use two of your class credits per week for a guest. This can be useful if your class pass is about to expire and you don’t want to waste any credit.
Currently, the ‘Book For Guest’ feature is only available on our website booking system and not our app.
Please note, you can only book one guest at a time per class on our weekly schedule. Please get in touch with us directly if you would like to book a small group or more than two people.

Yoga is a mind and body practice with a 5,000-year history in ancient Indian philosophy. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is scientifically proven to have many benefits, which all centre around mental and physical strength and flexibility. Yoga is not a religion, but a method to understanding your mind and body a little better.

We recommend joining one of our beginner’s classes. This class is specially designed for first-time yogis, no experience is necessary or expected. Our instructors love new students and our studio’s ethos is to be a safe space no matter how flexible or inflexible you are. We embrace silly and discourage critique, so you will feel totally supported along the way.
Remember to keep an open mind and be patient. Just like anything in life, it takes time to adapt to something new. Take a few classes to see if yoga is right for you.
Try and avoid eating big meals before class or wearing freshly applied aftershave or perfume that may overpower your neighbour!

You will most definitely need a yoga mat. If you don’t have one yet you can borrow one of ours at the studio. We also have beautiful, high quality, grippy and durable yoga mats for sale.
Workout gear is good to wear or any clothes that are comfortable and you can move freely in, some water & a small towel are also nice to have, especially for hot yoga.
We have storage for your bag and coat in the yoga studio. Why not try leaving your phone at home or in your car and explore how freeing that can be!

If you are coming to the studio with your baby for the first time here are a few answers to questions you may have.
What should I bring?
A yoga mat (if you don’t have one there are a few available to rent, but they are limited).
A Muslin or scarf to play with.
A favourite toy in case baby needs extra reassurance in a new environment.
We’ll be lifting and laying the babies so if you’re more comfortable wrapping them to your chest feel free to bring something to “baby wear” in a standing pose.
Snacks & bottles of water for babies who may get hungry!
Where do I leave my buggy?
If you’re driving you’ll want to leave the buggy in the car as there are stairs and no lift to the studio. If you’re walking and need the buggy, please leave it at the front door and check-in. We will arrange for it to be carried up.
Parking outside is free for the first hour.
What if my baby doesn’t want to cooperate?
We are all parents here and we know babies can be very unpredictable, so just know that NOBODY will judge if your baby wants to do something else!
If baby wants to sleep during class, you can do yoga until they wake.
If baby doesn’t want to cooperate that’s fine, we will tailor it as we go.
If you need to breastfeed, bottle-feed, etc., feel free to take a break.
The studio will be babyproofed for our walking babies who like to roam.
Changing facilities are also available.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact us!

Please let the teacher know. Past injuries can change our movement patterns, and if the teacher knows this they can properly assist you in class. If you have any current injuries, make sure to mention them to the teacher so they know how to assist you if needed. Sometimes, it may be better that you avoid class or take a different one, let us know and we will advise.

In the old days, in India yoga was almost exclusively for men, this has changed thankfully! There is a good mix of men and women in most of our classes. We try to maintain a gender balance of teachers on our schedule.
-
Well, you’re on the path to change that, coming to class is your first step! You will find that in every class there are all types of bodies and flexibilities. Yoga is about understanding your body and developing awareness of it and how it moves. Every pose will look different for everybody, our teachers will provide a modification or an easier way to get into a pose if you are finding it challenging. Always listen to your body and don't push yourself beyond what you are capable of just to keep up with the rest of the class. If it gets to be too much, spend some time in child's pose (which will be explained in class) until you are ready to jump back in.

A warm welcoming teacher that’s happy to see you, without any judgment or expectation. If you’re not in the beginners class, you may let the teacher know you’re new to yoga and they will make sure to cue the poses in a way that’s clear for you to understand. Sit anywhere, but if you’d like a bit of privacy, the back row is best and you can observe what everyone else is doing if you’re a little lost in some poses. Turn off your phone & arrive 10 mins early if possible so we can show you around the studio.
