Let’s first admit that; we have the right to walk, sleep and breathe joyfully. Chronic pain can be debilitating, Our bodies are wonderfully and perfectly designed to move and experience the world around us, and if you suffer from chronic tension and pain then it’s time you address it so you can start enjoying life more. With this Somatic Movement Workshop, you will discover why tension lives in body, learn ways to move it out, and begin a path of being pain free.

WHAT IS THIS WORKSHOP, REALLY?

A 3-day workshop in Somatic Movement and Education, Neural-Anatomy of Pain Pathway, Qi Gong, and a few yoga postures to put it all together. We will learn about how the body creates movement through neural networks, muscle groups, and intentions. We will discover how we sit, walk, and orient our spine to find out where our tension comes from. Then, we will learn effective pain management strategies to not only alleviate pain, but to stop it’s reoccurrence.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?

Anyone that has reoccurring pain, tightness, or tension not resulting from a structural deformity or infection. Athletes, elderly, flexibly or not; somatics is safe and effective for all groups. This workshop is ideal for anyone with sciatica, bursitis, arthritis, herniated discs, constant cramping, anxiety that results in difficulty breathing, joint aches, and similar.

WHAT WILL I GAIN BY THE END?

A fundamental understanding of how chronic, muscle pain is showing up and how to effectively move out of it. You will become aware of your specific postural and walking habits, and how to address where certain habits result in pain and inflexibility. Lastly, you will leave with a personal handbook with the skills learned in class and how to use them later.

DAY 1: Somatic Education & Posture Analysis

DAY 2: Somatic Movement & Walking Analysis

  • Dive deeper into Somatics of Pelvis, Spine, and Hips

  • Walking Analysis: discover how your body moves when walking

  • Somatic Movement for Shoulders, Upper Back

  • Integration of Spine, Pelvis, and Torso

DAY 3: Deep Somatics

  • Psoas Release Movements

  • Diaphragm & Breathing Movements

  • Qi Gong and Moving Meditation

  • Integration and Questions

DAY 4: Somatic Yoga

  • Rehearse Movements Learned

  • Standing, Sitting, and Walking Scan

  • Yoga Postures with Somatic Movement

  • Ending Comments + Plan Development for Pain
